To make our chocolate we use:
Cacao Butter: Cacao butter has many health benefits internally and externally. A natural fat that is extracted from the cocoa bean. Cacao butter has a large amount of CMP (Cocoa Mass Polyphenol) which is a chemical that helps to prevent heart disease as well as treat the symptoms of arthritis and dermatitis. Cacao butter in dark chocolate can lower LDL (bad cholesterol) levels. Also, cacao butter contains oleic acid, an unsaturated fat that raises HDL (good cholesterol) levels. |
Cacao Powder: Raw cacao contains hundreds of chemicals; it is high in magnesium, iron, chromium, tryptophan, antioxidants and magnesium ( the most deficient major mineral on the Standard UK Diet (SUKD); over 80% of us are chronically deficient in magnesium). On top of all that, Cacao is also very high in the beauty mineral sulphur. |
Lucuma Powder: Lucuma is a nutrient dense fruit from Peru that smells divine, and tastes a little like maple syrup flavoured ice-cream! In Peru , the yellowy-orange fruit pulp is added to ice-cream and is Peru 's favourite flavour. Lucuma is considered a healthy alternative sweetener as it lends a sweet taste to recipes, but is very low in sugars. With naturally occurring beta-carotene, niacin, and iron, lucuma powder is a welcome antidote to notorious “empty calorie” sweeteners. |
Agave Nectar: Agave nectar (or agave syrup, as it's sometimes called) is a plant-based sweetener derived from the agave cactus , native to Mexico . Like honey or maple syrup, agave is considered a "natural" sweetener because it doesn't contain any added chemicals as part of processing. This means that agave is a great, safe sweetener for children. Finally, agave is considered to be a low-glycemic sweetener, which means it doesn't spike blood sugar levels the way refined cane sugar does. The syrup is about 90% fructose, the same natural sweetener found in most fruits. |
Natural Vanilla: Vanilla is native to Central America and has a long record of pre-Columbian usage. The largest part of vanilla-flavoured industrial products do not contain true vanilla, but the much cheaper synthetic vanillin. Our natural vanilla comes from Madagascar where it is pollinated by hand and takes up to 9 months to mature. Vanilla is the second most expensive spice after saffron due to the extensive labor required to grow the vanilla seed pods. |
To make our fruity centres we use:
Guarana: Is a plant from Brazil . The seeds have seven per cent more caffeine than most plants, including coffee beans. The biggest difference between the caffeine found in coffee beans and that of guarana, is that guarana's caffeine is released much more slowly, providing longer and more sustained stimulation. Other uses for guarana are detoxifying the blood, reducing intestinal gas, obesity, dyspepsia, fatigue, arteriosclerosis, neuralgia, diarrhea, dysentery, migraine relief, rheumatism, and cellulite reduction. |
Siberian Ginseng: Famed as an energy tonic in China since ancient times, Siberian ginseng is famed for its notable stress-repelling powers. Healthy men and women taking it were found to better endure physical strain, resist disease, and perform tests of mental sharpness. It also enhances memory and wards off colds and flu. In Russia , millions of people use it as a general tonic. |
Maca Root: Maca root is a product that can make people feel, look, and perform better. Maca's place in pre-conquest Peru as a remedy and nutritious super-food precedes written history. As an adaptogen, maca works broadly to contribute to overall well being. It nourishes and calms the nerves with calcium, phosphorus, vitamins B1 and B12 , and fatty acids, all of which work beneficially on the nervous system. Amazingly, a single Maca Magic root contains almost 60 phyto-nutrients! All these phytochemicals combined with MACA MAGIC's full array of vitamins makes the Maca plant one of the most powerful medicinal plants on earth. |
Hemp Seeds: Hemp seeds & Hemp Powder are both naturally beneficial and one of the most fantastic complete protein sources from any plant food. In addition to these important nutrients, sesame seeds contain two unique substances: sesamin and sesamolin . Both of these substances belong to a group of special beneficial fibers called lignans , and have been shown to have a cholesterol-lowering effect. |
